Our first Skandia Days
22 Jul
This past Saturday was our first ever Skandia Days. This one-day celebration includes a polka dance (we didn’t attend), a 1/2-mile long parade and a gathering at the community center. It felt like a smaller version of the annual Nahma Labor Day Celebration. The weather was only in the 60s so it felt like fall rather than mid-July! Ken and Erin came over with kids for the parade and then we walked down to the cookout. We competed in the water balloon toss and did pretty well, probably around 5th or 6th place.
On Sunday, Leah’s parents and grandma came up for a visit. Greg and Leah’s dad trimmed the trees in the backyard. They were in need of some major trimming and it should help the grass grow in the backyard, too. They used Greg’s truck to haul the branches to the woods and as you can see it was quite the sight.
Below is a picture of Leah at 30 weeks. The baby has been really active and tends to push his/her bony elbows or knees into Leah’s ribs. Greg primed the baby’s room and now it can finally get painted. Tomorrow is also another one of Leah’s baby showers, hosted by her work employees.
