We had such a difficult time getting our TV and Internet hooked up here at the new house. It’s a long, involved, complicated headache of a story, but needless to say, we’re finally back online after two and a half weeks.
We’re now fully moved into the new house, but only the kitchen and bathroom are completely unpacked. The rest of the house is pretty bare, with the exception of the basement, which is crowded with all of our moving boxes. But we’re not in any big hurry to get things unpacked and in place. Greg is planning to paint the trim in the living room sometime this week or weekend and after that we’ll finally get some curtains up in there. We might also repaint the trim in our bedroom. Now that it’s all done, Leah doesn’t really like the color. Thankfully it’s easy to repaint that. We also picked out a color for the baby’s room, though we’ve got awhile before that needs to be done.
Speaking of the baby, Leah is doing well. Her morning sickness seems to be completely gone now. Below is a 24-week belly picture, and this Friday we have our monthly ultrasound to check the baby’s development. Because she’s on blood thinners, she’ll need to go for these ultrasounds every month, to make sure the baby’s growing properly. It will be fun for us to get to see how our little one is doing, and hopefully we can get a 4D picture of his/her face this time. The baby’s pretty active, kicking and moving around a lot. Leah had to start doing daily kick counts today (tracking how long it takes the baby to kick 10 times), and in today’s session it took under 3 minutes.
Our fifth wedding anniversary was last Friday. We went out to dinner and had some super yummy Gopher’s cake for dessert. Then we came home and Leah fell asleep on the couch by 9:30. A very romantic evening.
Greg’s been out exploring our yard and has found a patch of asparagus growing out in our field. He steamed and ate it and said it was good, though Leah wouldn’t try any. She said it was because she wasn’t 100% sure that it was actually asparagus and not some poisonous plant that just looked like asparagus, but really she just doesn’t like it. Hopefully the baby is not as picky of an eater as she is.
Let’s see, what else have we been up to? We went down to Leah’s parents’ house for Memorial Day for Dayna’s high school graduation. So hard to believe she’s already old enough for that! When Greg first met her, she was only 7. But besides that there hasn’t been too much happening other than house-related stuff. Greg has been working on getting the pictures of the new place formatted and we should have them on here soon, especially now that we have our Internet back!
