We’ve moved!

27 May

Yes, we do still exist. At the end of the last posting, we mentioned how we were closing on a home in a couple days. Well, since May 7th (our closing date) we’ve been living in what feels like hyper-speed mode. We’ve been busy with painting, cleaning, packing and moving since we took ownership. Luckily, the new home is only about 7 miles from our current rental house so the drive isn’t bad. This past Saturday we moved the big items and Monday night was our first night to stay there. It was really, really quiet compared our old place on the highway. Most of our stuff is in the basement or the garage for the time being. There’s still a bit to move, but mostly smaller stuff from the closets and garage. We actually have through the weekend to be moved and cleaned out of the old rental. The next few nights won’t be fun and we’re starting to get a little burned out but the moving end is in sight.

Leah’s pregnancy is going well and right on schedule according to her last doctor’s visit. We’re looking forward to another ultrasound in a few weeks. Here is her 22-week picture:

We also won’t have TV or Internet at the new place till this Saturday so I had to write this on lunch break. We’ll post some pics when it settles down a bit.

We hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend!

Baby’s close up

5 May

Today was our big ultrasound, and it went great! Everything looked really good, which is such a relief. We didn’t find out what the baby’s sex is, although the tech said he loves to tell people and asked us a few times if we wanted to change our minds. But we held strong.

He couldn’t tell us how the baby was measuring (we have to wait to hear it from the doctor), although from the measurements we could see, it looked like the baby was measuring a few days ahead, more in line with our 11 week ultrasound which put the due date at September 26. We’ll see what the doctor has to say.

And on to the pictures!

Here’s the baby’s profile.

Here’s just one showing the baby from the side, all scrunched up.

And when it came time to switch to the 4D, here’s what we got:

4d-back

Apparently someone is camera shy! He or she had better grow out of that! We’ll go back for another ultrasound in 10 weeks to get a better look at the face, so hopefully we’ll get better 4D pictures then.

It was so nice to see the baby, though. Even though he or she has been kicking and moving around, it was reassuring to see all those fingers, toes, arms and legs. The baby was moving around quite a bit at the beginning, which is awesome to see, but eventually settled down for the measurements.

Up next on our agenda is signing for our house on Thursday afternoon. This is just a busy (but exciting) week for us!
