Fun Finds Friday

15 Aug

I really need to write a post to let you all know what we’ve been up to. Last weekend was Theresa’s bridal shower and my 10-year class reunion (I still can’t believe it’s been 10 years already). But since I don’t have the time right now and I haven’t done a Fun Finds Friday in about 2 or 3 months, I figured I’d do one. Enjoy!

  1. Two years ago, I ordered a cake for my company’s Christmas party. Whoever decorated it at the Wal-Mart bakery decided that bright pink went very well with red and green. Huh? Anyway, I found this site of cake decorating gone wrong. These are hilariously bad. Oh, and check out the James Bond cake.
  2. Here’s a Wikipedia listing of out-of-place artifacts that I stumbled upon.
  3. What would happen if I did graffiti:
What would happen if I did graffiti.
Although, I really don’t think the period is necessary, since Edward isn’t a sentence. Anyway.
  4. When Justin and I were little, we had a Speak & Read. I found this Speak & Spell simulator and the sounds of the voice brought back so many memories. I loved that thing. I wonder what happened to it.
  5. Man, I only got 40% on the quiz about what TV dads did for a living. I guess I never really paid attention.

Vacation, had to get away

1 Aug

Can you believe that it’s August already? Crazy. Last weekend was our trip downstate to visit Greg’s family. The weather there was extremely nice and felt hot at times with temps in the 80s. I think that that felt so warm to us because of our chilly summer so far up here.

We left on Thursday after work and got down to Greg’s parents’ house at about midnight. We stayed up late talking to Greg’s mom so didn’t get to bed until nearly 2:00. Friday we both slept in pretty late and then went on a tour of the Woodland/Lake Odessa area to see what had changed since we were there last (not much). We stopped to visit Greg’s dad at his work and to visit the new bunny that they have there, named Nemo. That night, Greg, his dad and Steve went fishing and didn’t catch much, while his mom and I went mini golfing. I got a hole in one on the first hole! It was awesome!

On Saturday, Chris, Theresa and Brian showed up for the guys’ annual golf tourney. Greg always manages to win this, and this year he and Steve tied for first. While they were golfing, Greg’s mom, Theresa and I went shopping. Theresa and I found dresses for our class reunion coming up next weekend.

Sunday we headed up to Shelby to visit Greg’s grandma and then the group of us went up to Pentwater, which is right on Lake Michigan. That area is a tourist destination, so they have lots of galleries and little shops, although we didn’t buy anything but some candy.

Monday we headed home, with a brief stop at the bridge so Greg could take some pictures. And that was our trip! It seemed really busy, and went by super fast. Although we did get two short work weeks out of it. :)

Check out some of the pictures we took while we were there.
