Caleb’s first hockey game

4 Mar

Tonight we watched my little cousin Caleb’s (#14) first hockey game. Watching four and five year olds playing hockey is great. It’s like watching bees play hockey. Everyone just swarms towards the puck. I have to give them a lot of credit because they were playing on half a rink which is some work. Leah took some video and we’ve put it on YouTube. The link is here. He’s playing center at the start of the video and he’s number 14.

In other news, we had what looked like a crime scene out near our garage this morning. Not to be graphic but there was a puddle of blood and a trail of blood that led to the center of our yard where there were the innards of a rabbit. We’re thinking it was a coyote with the size of tracks in the snow. We were feeling pretty guilty because we’d been providing the perfect “bait pile” for him by feeding the rabbits right out front.

It looks like he wants to play goalie. For some reason every time I see a goalie, which isn’t often, I think of Goldberg from The Mighty Ducks. There is something hilarious about little kids playing hockey.

Yeah, it was hilarious. They were all falling all over the place. I felt bad laughing at them because they were all trying so hard, but I couldn’t help it because it was just so funny.

And his brother Jacob plays goalie, so that might be why he wants to be goalie.
