Fun weekend

30 Jul

This past weekend was awesome with beautiful weather and Leah’s company picnic. On Saturday, the picnic took place in Big Bay at Perkins Park on Lake Independence. They had quite a few people show and lots of food to eat. We won, yet again, the three-legged race! This year there was controversy, though, since the people leading didn’t make the turn back and stopped at the halfway point. Oh well, we’ll take the win and our ribbons! We also played some other games, volleyball and went for a swim. This picnic and camping area is really pretty being right on the lake. Yesterday, the weather was even hotter so we got our grocery shopping out the way early and went to the Lake Superior beach in the afternoon. The water was actually pretty decent and Leah even went swimming! It’s supposed to be hot this entire week so I’m sure we’ll being going back to the beach in the evenings. We’re also planning to go see Harry Potter at the theater and take in the A/C, too.

Photo albums complete

27 Jul

Its been a month since our trip out west and we’ve finally completed all of the albums in our Shutterfly account. You can now view the entire trip at http://wyoming07.shutterfly.com. In the 9 days we were gone, we did so much! When we got back home and it took a few days to realize where and what we had experienced. What a memorable trip!

In other news… its been extremely hot! On Wednesday it was 90+ and by that night the indoor temperature at the house was 81 degrees! It’s actually kind of cool today, though.

Enjoy the pictures and have a good weekend.

The ‘perfect’ weekend

24 Jul

This past weekend was a lot of fun with the release of the new Harry Potter (HP) book and a wedding on the Nahma beach. On Friday night we to Wal-Mart, as we traditionally do, for the release of the final HP book. This was the third time we’ve done this and it was by far the most people we’ve seen. They were handing out HP materials and also had free cupcakes. Because of the wedding on Saturday Leah was limited in her reading. In past years, she would have the book done by Saturday night, all 700-800 pages! This year she finished on Sunday evening.

The wedding was of a cousin of Leah’s and the ceremony took place next door on the beach. The conditions were perfect for the middle of July. It was warm, sunny and with just a little breeze. Following the ceremony, the reception took place at the Nahma golf course under a monster tent. They had excellent food and we danced the night away to a live band. It was probably the event of the summer!

Below are some pictures of the weekend. Greg has also been uploading more photos from our Wyoming trip. They can be seen at http://wyoming07.shutterfly.com.

Wyoming pictures

Things have been pretty busy around here, or so it feels. We forgot our computer in Nahma for a week so we couldn’t upload anymore of our photos to the Shutterfly account. I’ll continue doing that soon. In the meantime, I’ve added some of my favorites to my Flickr account, which can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/88582691@N00/. Photos don’t do it justice.

Have a good weekend!
