We now have a second home, well at least I do. I bought a used portable ice shanty over the weekend but it’s been way to cold to use it. The previous owner modified it with a bench so two people can sit. The picture on their website makes it look really small but you can get an idea. I also bought a little single burner propane stove to heat it. Leah is actually looking forward to going ice fishing now! We’ll see how it works, maybe this weekend.

As for the weather around here, C-O-L-D (like everywhere else in the Midwest). The daytime temperature gets up to around 4 degrees and the night temp drops to -10. Both of our vehicles have been starting and I’m actually getting used to it.

    Oh, I am so looking forward to sitting out on the ice. :) I’m going to make some hot chocolate on the little stove. I won’t mind going as long as we’re not out there all day. A couple of hours is probably all I can handle.

    Looks like an awesome ice shanty!! I don’t know if there is room for both of you in there, though. Good thing you are both on the small side. Have fun this weekend in Houghton. Wish we could go, but Grandma will still be here. She would really enjoy it, but from the car. I am sure we could not get a hotel room at this late notice anyway. Dayna’s cheer thing in Grand Rapids either got cancelled or they are just not going. It would have been nice to know a little earlier. Remember, next weekend is the Nahma church party. Herb called us this week. We have to buy a bottle of booze for them to auction off – for a church raffle!! I never heard of such a thing. Probably this would only go over in the U.P. I am emailing Jeanne to see if she is coming.

    Oh and mom, my web host likes to just do maintenance whenever they feel like without telling me ahead of time. That’s why my site was down for a bit the other day.

    We had one of those frigid places in front of our cabin. I don’t know what happened to it though. There were tracks on the lake and then it just disappeared! Where could it be?

    Leah, you and Greg should come to our house on Friday night. Then you could ride up with us to Nahma on Saturday. You could come with Grandma and me to Brittany’s shower Sunday. Greg could come back with Russ and wait for you are our house. I think we could be back from Menominee by 4:00 or so. Think about it. I’m also trying to get Justin to come here Friday and go to Nahma with us. We have Grandma’s car, too, so there would be plenty of room.
